It can reach a height of 2-3 m. It grows slowly. It prefers a semi-shaded spot and loose, well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Strong sun can scorch the leaves. It needs a moderate amount of water. It is fairly winter-hardy in home conditions, but protection of the root zone is recommended, especially when kept in a pot while young. When grown in a pot, growth may be slower, but in the long run the plant keeps its proportionate shape and delicate leaf character. It is an ideal choice if you are looking for an ornamental tree with an exclusive look that changes with the seasons, bringing harmony, color and delicacy to your garden or even your terrace.
